Bender Hatch Insurance is proud to share that John Malley, our Commercial Lines Manager, has been named the 2025 recipient of the Nancy Z. Bender Award by The Insurance Library Association of Boston.
This annual award honors insurance professionals who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to service—both within the industry and in their communities. Named in honor of Nancy Z. Bender, a respected business leader and former president of The Insurance Library, the award is given to individuals who lead with integrity, compassion, and purpose.
For those who know John, this recognition comes as no surprise.
With more than three decades of service at Bender Hatch, John has become a pillar of our agency and a trusted advisor to countless clients. He began his insurance career at Brewer & Lord (now HUB International) before joining H. R. Hatch Insurance, which later became part of Bender Hatch. Over the years, John has led our commercial lines department with exceptional professionalism and a client-first mindset, helping businesses navigate risk with confidence and clarity.
Beyond the office, John’s passion for service extends deeply into his community. He has held multiple civic leadership roles, including:
- Commissioner, Stoughton Conservation Commission
- Founding Member & Past President, Roslindale Business Group
- Town Meeting Member, Stoughton
- Member, Stoughton Finance Committee
- Board Member, Stoughton Media Access Corporation
- Board Member, Stoughton Council on Aging
He is also in his second term on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents, where he continues to advocate for independent agencies and support the next generation of insurance professionals.
